The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers several scholarships for students with financial needs. Since 2006, the Fund has provided student with $175 million funding. Almost 300 secondary school and college students receive money in the form of scholarships. The Foundation offers several scholarships to students from 8th to 12th grades students.
We will focus on the School Scholarships for College from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. It’s a prestigious scholarship program for students. This establishment awarded scholarships to high school students who can’t pay for the tuition themselves. The winners are visited by the best four-year colleges and universities in the country.
Another programme worth mentioning is the scholarship programme for students who want to learn culinary. It gives students the opportunity to enter colleges. The applicants must have financial troubles to apply for it.
The Winners’ Remunerations
The winners can get up to $40,000 a year. The sum is awarded on the basis of individual needs and tuition fees, as well as other scholarships available to students. Money can go to training, living expenses, books and other mandatory payments. The program also helps you entry the college and networking with the Cook Community to enrol in a four-year school if you have the following points:
- The GPA is not less than 3.5.
- At least 1,200 points on the SAT
- Above 26 points in the ACT
Students who pretend to get a scholarship must have a family income not mre than $95,000 in total. The students must go through several questions about the schools they have visited, their assessments, their actions and their honours. There are also questions about the curricula and courses at the college.
Cover Letter From Student
Dive into something you’re passionate about, be it hobbies or volunteering. It is important that the letter shows your nature and how you worked through the control questions. Give your instructor some examples instead of writing a letter. Think outside of the box when answer questions. Share a unique story or experience.
Cover Letters from Teachers
Students should have three recommendations from their teachers in order to apply for the scholarship. These cover letters should be sent by a school adviser and two teachers. One should be an 11-grade teacher from the main academic subject, and one should be a teacher who worked with a student in the last four years. Teachers are asked to describe students characters and their attitude to academic performance.
Pro tip: Instead of asking the teacher to write you a letter, ask them to meet. Explain that you would like them to write a cover letter. If they don’t know you well enough, tell them about yourself.
Financial Data to Attach
Students must share info about the financial environment they grew up in. This includes the last three years with the adjusted gross income of the family. The deadline for applications usually expires in November. In January, the seven finalists are listed. The finalists are notified in April.
